How To Prep For Your Shoot

So, the time as come to attend your session. Are you ready? If not, no need to panic yet. As your photographer I am happy to share a few tips and tricks to help you get prepared and have you confident for when you arrive.

Tip #1: Your session Is About You. You might have hear this before but where whatever you feel confident and comfortable in. But while it is important to be comfortable, take some time to think about what this session is about and what you want your photos to represent to you at the end of the day. Plan your outfit to not only compliment your style but

Tip #2: Props! Certain objects hold meaning to you, bring them along to share your personality with the camera! From apparel like glasses, hats and scarfs to more handheld objects like heirlooms, instruments or tools, these items help tell your story.

Tip #3: Communication is key to having the most success for your session. If you ever have questions for your photographer, ask away! They are there to help you navigate the unfamiliarity of having your photo taken if this is something you are not familiar with.

Tip #4: Sleep, Eat, Hydrate. A good night sleep is crucial to feeling ready for the day ahead. Eating and drinking enough water as well. Avoid heavy foods as well as anything overly salty or spicy as these can lead to bloating and breakouts. Water is your friend, drink enough daily and you are good to do.

I hope that these few items help you prepare for the days before your session. If you have made it this far though, I have a few more day of tips for you as well.

Tip #1: Clean Your Glasses. If you wear you glasses, make sure they are clean. The last thing your photographer or you want is for a poorly timed fingerprint on your glasses to take away from your photos.

Tip #2: Arrive Early. Nothing is stressful than unexpected traffic as you begin driving to your meetup location. Things do happen so plan ahead if possible. Take my life motto if you will..."Early is on time, and on time is late."

Tip #3: Stay Positive. To say things bluntly, life happens. But that is ok! Your photographer is here for you. Windy day and your hair is getting a little frazzled; don't worry, I have a mirror ready to help you out with any last minute touch ups you may need in the field. Your attitude as you approach your session has everything to do with how your session turns out. Just relax and lets have fun as we tell your story.
